Energy Office Northern Småland, Section for Energy and Community Building, Regional Development
Do you want to help shape the sustainable energy systems of the future?
Are you knowledgeable about renewable energy sources and the impact of electrification on areas such as community and emergency planning, grid development, or the competitiveness of businesses?
Do you enjoy working project-oriented and driving processes forward in collaboration with others?
Then we have something for you!
The Role of Project Manager
The energy system in Sweden and in Jönköping County is undergoing significant changes, where electrification and the phase-out of fossil fuels mean that municipalities, energy market actors, and businesses need to meet the energy transition in various ways. Collaboration between these actors, increased knowledge, analytical support, and innovative thinking are all keys needed to drive the transition, and here Energy Office Northern Småland and Region Jönköping County play an important role. We are looking for someone who wants to help drive this work forward in the role of project manager.
Your Future Workplace
Energy Office Northern Småland is part of Region Jönköping County and a driving force in the energy and climate transition. As part of the section for energy and community building in Regional Development, we work to accelerate the transition to a sustainable society. Our mission is to support companies and municipalities in Jönköping County to achieve their energy and climate goals – while helping them to take advantage of the opportunities of the green transition.
We work both strategically and operationally through advice, capacity building, and project support. We drive networks, strengthen the knowledge base, and ensure that plans are translated into concrete action. Through our efforts, we strengthen innovation, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability – always with an impartial and non-profit perspective.
With us, you will be part of an engaged team of about twenty colleagues, who, together with the Regional Development Department of Region Jönköping County, strive to make our region the most sustainable, attractive, and accessible in Sweden. We also collaborate with other regional energy offices across Sweden to drive development throughout the country.
Your Profile
For a permanent position, we are now looking for someone who can contribute knowledge and a systems perspective to accelerate the county's energy and climate transition. You are a university-educated engineer in energy systems or energy technology, or have relevant work experience that is considered equivalent. Experience from the energy sector is an advantage, and we believe you have at least one year of work experience.
We believe that you, as an applicant, have knowledge of or experience in several of the following areas:
- Broad energy system issues, how different energy sources interact and energy storage through e.g. batteries and hydrogen
- Knowledge of the electrical system, distribution networks, flexibility services, and other related areas such as energy sharing via microgrids/energy communities
- The challenges and opportunities of the energy-intensive industry in the energy transition, both regarding energy efficiency and effect optimization
- Energy planning as part of municipal community planning and comprehensive planning
- Project management and leading different parties towards a common goal
It is positive if you have an interest in the interaction between humans and technology in the energy transition. It is obvious to you that energy supply needs to be related to other values, such as business competitiveness, biodiversity, and preparedness.
To fit into the role, you need to be a creative problem solver who enjoys listening to needs and solving challenges together with others. You are communicative and appreciate explaining the technically advanced in a pedagogical and easily understandable way. Being responsible with a good ability to plan your work, taking initiative, and being able to act flexibly on changing conditions, enjoying working in project form, and being comfortable speaking in front of others are prerequisites for the work to function.
Knowledge of the Office package is a requirement, and a digital working method comes naturally to you. You should be able to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing in a clear and pedagogical manner. We place great importance on personal suitability and strive for diversity and equality.
Our Offer to You
We offer an exciting and developing position where you will have the opportunity to influence and drive progress for a sustainable energy transition. You will work with both strategic and operational tasks, from analyzing knowledge gaps and driving change processes to planning meetings and leading collaboration arenas. Project managers with us often lead a project group while also being part of another. Therefore, it is important that you can naturally shift between these roles and function well as a team player. The work involves significant personal responsibility, and the workplace is characterized by a lack of prestige, a thirst for knowledge, and close cooperation among colleagues where we gladly support each other and value a pleasant working environment highly. If you also appreciate such an environment, you will thrive with us! Remote work is possible up to two days a week, as long as the tasks allow.
As an employee with us at Region Jönköping County, you will have access to our employment benefits: We offer benefits that both strengthen your basic security and improve your everyday life.
